Restaurants and food and beverage (F&B) outlets facing the Lake and Fountain areas at Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar will get a four-month rent relief due to the fountain's closure.

Emaar Malls Management (LLC) said a decision was taken to offer rent relief because Dubai Fountain “served as a key attraction for visitors to these venues”. Emaar will extend the rent relief to around 50 outlets.

Dubai Fountain is one of the biggest attractions in the emirate, as millions of people watch the fountain every year. The tourist hotspot was closed over the weekend for the next few months for an extensive renovation project.

A large number of visitors attended the last show of the emirate's most stunning water spectacle on April 19. Emaar said it waived the rent for affected terrace spaces for a period of four months, from June through September 2025.

"For years, Dubai Fountain and the surrounding lake have contributed significantly to the popularity of these destinations. As we move into a new chapter, this rent support reflects our commitment to long-term partnerships and to helping tenants navigate this transition with resilience and confidence,” said Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar.

In addition, Emaar said it is introducing new measures to further enhance the visitor experience in the area. This includes the installation of 400 metres of state-of-the-art digital screens across the promenade, designed to animate the location with engaging visual content and help retailers maintain footfall during the fountain’s closure.
