Careem has decided to extend its highly contested ‘Dirhams for Delays’ cashback initiative until the end of June, a company spokesperson told Arabian Business.

“Our reliability levels have remained super strong throughout the campaign which is why we feel confident to extend the promise of AED1 for every minute we’re late for all UAE customers until the end of June,” Global Head of Careem Food, Alex Golden, exclusively told Arabian Business.

“The campaign has helped raise awareness of all the efforts we take to ensure on-time delivery while looking after our Captains, and this is something we’re proud to be known for.”

Initially launched on May 8, super-app Careem announced that it was offering AED1 for every extra minute of delay in food delivery, with a maximum payment limit of AED10 per order – valid until June 8. The money would be transferred to the customer’s account in credit through the Careem Pay wallet.
