CLIO, a 10-kilometre immersive installation set to become one of the world’s largest artworks and a new cultural icon for the UAE, today achieved a key milestone with the unveiling of its first 250 square metres of canvas.

The unveiling took place at Skydive Dubai’s Palm Dropzone, one of the world’s most iconic skydiving destinations, as part of a series of exclusive project capsules. The first segment of the canvas, created by international artist Agron Hoti, marks the operational launch of the installation phase at Dubai Harbour, which will later be permanently positioned in CLIO Desert Park.

The event reinforced the strategic alliance between CLIO Desert Park and Skydive Dubai to develop immersive experiences enbaling visitors to fly over the artwork through dedicated aerial packages, establishing CLIO as an unprecedented global artistic destination.

The initiative was accomplished through the unwavering support of Shamal Holding, a Dubai- based diversified investment firm that has championed CLIO since its inception and owns the Desert Campus dropzone, where the monumental artwork will be permanently installed.

The highlight of the event was Agron Hoti completing a tandem skydive alongside a team of professional skydivers, soaring over the canvas before landing on the dedicated platform, a symbolic gesture combining art, performance, and participation.

“We are thrilled with the project’s progress,” said Massimiliano Suglia, Founder of CLIO Desert Park. “This unveiling is the first of a series of capsules introducing new immersive experiences and expanding CLIO’s global reach. On both the investment and international relations fronts, the project is advancing strongly, attracting global brands and agencies with proposals that will enrich CLIO Desert Park’s future artistic and cultural offerings.”

Agron Hoti added: “Today we tested an experience that will be replicated in the desert at CLIO Desert Park’s opening. Flying over a work celebrating inclusion transforms the gesture into pure emotion and a shared experience.”

The complete installation, comprising 25,000 certified modules, is proceeding as per the project timeline with CLIO Oasis scheduled to open in 2027, and full project completion planned for 2033, targeting 4.8 million visitors over six years.
