Dubai Police announce games during Ramadan

Most competitions will take place after iftar, from 9pm to 12am, while cycling competitions will be held before Iftar

Dubai Police announced on Friday the return of the ‘Ramadan Games' running from March 1 to March 22, with total cash prize exceeding Dh800,000.

“The tournament aims to promote a sports culture during the holy month of Ramadan,” said Dubai Police, noting the games “encourage competition, fitness, and a healthy lifestyle. The initiative underscores the importance of sports in enhancing physical health, fitness levels, character development, and overall well-being.”

There will be 8 community categories, including:

  • General public
  • Dubai Police Academy students
  • Hemaya School students
  • Dubai Police employees
  • Participants in the specialised Diploma in Police Innovation and International Leadership (PIL)
  • Dubai Police retirees
  • Families of Dubai Police employees
  • People of Determination

The tournament will feature 23 sporting competitions:

  • Tennis
  • Football
  • Snooker
  • Beach volleyball
  • Taekwondo
  • Roller skating
  • Shooting
  • Chess
  • 5 km running race
  • Traditional Emirati games
  • Cricket
  • Padel
  • Air rifle shooting
  • Calisthenics
  • Indoor rowing
  • Obstacle course race
  • Swimming
  • Cycling race
  • Jiu-Jitsu
  • 100m sprint race
  • Karate
  • Archery
  • Mountain biking challenge

Matches will be held at these locations

  • Dubai Police Officers Club
  • Dubai Police Academy
  • Deira Palm
  • Umm Al Daman
  • Training City in Al Ruwayyah
  • Nad Al Sheba Police Station

Most competitions will take place after Iftar, from 9pm to 12 midnight, while cycling competitions will be held before Iftar, from 3pm to 5pm.
