Expect unstable weather conditions next week as the UAE will be impacted by 'low surface pressure', the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) confirmed on Thursday.

Rain is likely to start on Sunday and may hit southern areas. It could be light to moderate but may get stronger at times, the NCM said.

The low pressure may deepen on Monday and Tuesday, with clouds expected to get thicker over some areas. Residents are advised to brace for rain at different intensities — as well as thunderstorms, lightning and hail.

There may be fewer clouds on Wednesday but rain will continue over some areas, especially in the north and the east. Temperatures will drop.

Winds will be moderate to fresh, creating dusty conditions. The wind speed, however, is likely to decrease on Wednesday, the Met department said.

Seas will be moderate to rough and very rough at times, especially with cloud activity on Monday and Tuesday in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea, becoming moderate on Wednesday.
