One of Dubai’s most famous landmarks has revealed plans for a spectacular fireworks display.

Marking UAE-Kuwait Week celebrations across the emirates, the city has been pulling out all the stops with a week of exciting activities.

And it’s all going to conclude with a bang (literally) at none other than Burj Al Arab.

The so-called “seven-star hotel” has stood as an icon of the emirate since the 1990s and will serve as the backdrop for a huge show on Wednesday February 4.

The show takes to the skies at 9pm and will be visible from the surrounding area. There will be no specially held event at Burj Al Arab to mark the occasion, so it’ll be totally free to view.

Dubai has hosted several fun events and pop-ups throughout the past week to celebrate the UAE’s close ties with Kuwait.

Fireworks were also held at Dubai Festival City Mall last Thursday, while Global Village laid on a special Kuwait-themed show in its usual fireworks show slot.

There will be completely free fireworks displays to check out at some of the city’s most important sites, and we’ve picked out when and where the action is taking to the skies.

Other events have included cultural and art activities for families and children, workshops inspired by Kuwaiti heritage, classic Kuwaiti film screenings, a Kuwaiti food festival and special activities in malls and tourist attractions.

GDRFA-Dubai has also welcomed visitors to Dubai from Kuwait with a special commemorative stamp upon arrival at Dubai International Airport.
