Dubai Police have confirmed that traffic has resumed across most areas of the city following earlier closures.

Drivers should note, however, that Airport Road remains closed for vehicles coming from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, Al Khawaneej, and the Marrakech Street intersection heading towards Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.

Motorists are advised to follow alternative routes and stay updated through official traffic channels to avoid delays.

Authorities had temporarily restricted movement along these routes to manage traffic flow and ensure safety while addressing the incident that caused the closure.

Drivers are now able to resume normal travel, with traffic authorities continuing to monitor the area to prevent further congestion. Motorists are advised to stay updated on official traffic alerts and follow Dubai Police instructions for a smooth journey.

Early Monday morning, the Dubai Media Office reported a drone incident near Dubai International Airport (DXB), the world’s busiest airport. The incident affected one of the airport’s fuel tanks.

Shortly after, Dubai Civil Defence teams contained the fire, with officials confirming that no injuries were reported.

As a precaution, all Emirates flights to and from Dubai were temporarily suspended early Monday morning. Emirates later confirmed it would resume some operations from 10 am UAE time, operating a limited schedule. Some flights on today’s schedule have been cancelled, and affected passengers are being advised on reaccommodation options.

Earlier disruptions also led to some flights being diverted to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), Dubai Airports confirmed. Passengers are urged to contact their airlines for updated flight schedules and travel plans.

Officials have reassured the public that the situation is under control. Further updates will be provided through official channels as more information becomes available.
