Etihad has issued some important travel guidance ahead of a busy winter period.

The Abu Dhabi-based airline has advised that millions of travellers are expected to head through the airport in December.

Expecting over two million passengers in the last month of the year alone, Etihad stated that both school holidays and the city’s major attractions are bringing tourists from around the world as well as residents heading off on vacation.

The airline has strongly recommended that passengers plan their journeys carefully during the winter travel period.

If you’re flying Etihad this month, here are the airlines top tips to follow for a smooth journey.

Etihad recommends arriving at Zayed International Airport at least three hours before your flight.

You can check in up to 30 hours before departure on the Etihad app, as well as getting a digital boarding pass, track your baggage and get real-time flight information.

Before you pop your bag on the belt, make sure at home it meets the size, weight and safety rules.

Etihad also introduced new power bank rules this year, so make sure it fits the requirements and is only stored in your cabin bag.

Etihad offers City Check-In facilities across Abu Dhabi, including the Cruise Terminal, Yas Mall, Mussafah, and Al Ain City.

Guests can drop their bags and collect boarding passes up to 24 hours before flying, helping avoid queues at the airport.
