UAE Public Prosecution warns against illegal network circumvention

The UAE Public Prosecution has issued a warning to the public against attempting to bypass computer networks for illegal purposes.

According to Article 10 of Federal Decree Law No. 34 of 2021, individuals who circumvent a network’s internet protocol — whether by using third-party addresses or other methods — with the intent to commit an offence or evade detection could face severe penalties.

Offenders found guilty may be subject to temporary imprisonment and/or substantial fines ranging from Dh 500,000 to Dh 2,000,000.
